MARANTZ Timeline
1950 - 2003
The following timeline comes from a Stereo Sound special edition dedicated to Marantz published in 2003.
This book was not available for sale and reserved to "insiders"... and Marantz pride after the D&M buyout.
If the quality and thoroughness of it are one thing (accuracy not being parangon, though), the other is that,
for once, this Stereo Sound publication saw an english edition !
I'm sure the Stereo Sound editorial dept. won't mind me bringing this online as it will help put an end to the
many misconceptions and erroneous assumptions so far present online, especially the Philips/DynaScan/Superscope
split ownerships. However, being a Marantz Japan publication, this timeline omits the immense majority of the export-only components
produced throughout the 1970s, those mainly made for the USA and EU markets, as built quite often by Miyako Audio or S&R.
